    Junior School Play: 'Billy Liar' by Keith Waterhouse - Thursday 5th and Friday 6th July 2012

    The life Billy Fisher leads is complicated - because Billy Fisher leads several lives....

    Set in the 1960s, the play 'Billy Liar' by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall tells the story of a 19 year old funeral director's clerk who wants out of his dull life in the dull Northern town he lives in.

    This bitter sweet comedy looks at one day in his tangled life as he tries to juggle dozens of lies, two fiancees, one engagement ring, and a cupboard full of skeletons.....'

    The 2012 Junior School Play will be performed in the Ashton Theatre, at 8pm on Thursday 5th July, and at 6.45pm on Friday 6th July.

    Music - Friends of SSMA Club: Annual dinner and concert 'All the King's Men'

    The Friends of Shrewsbury School Musical Activities (SSMA) Club are holding their annual dinner in Kingsland Hall, which will be followed by a concert in the Maidment Building performed by the a cappella group 'All the King's Men'.

    The evening will start at 6.30pm with a champagne and canapés reception, followed by a two course meal with wine and coffee, and then the concert.

    Tickets for the whole evening are just £20 per person from Darren Wood on 01743 280810 dkwood@shrewsbury.org.uk, but are only available to members of the Friends of SSMA Club.
