Meet the Housemaster...

Old Salopian Richard Hudson read Classics and Law at Cambridge, qualified as a barrister, spent the first part of his career as a journalist and publisher and was from 1988-2003 managing director of Jordan Publishing.  He is a Freeman of the City of London and a liveryman of the Stationers’ Company. In 2003 he decided to return to his Salopian roots and has been Housemaster of Churchill's Hall since 2007.

Richard teaches English and is a keen mountaineer, trombonist and singer, running the school's rock climbing activity, one of its brass ensembles and a barbershop quartet. He is also editor of the School magazine 'The Salopian', coaches novice rowing, umpires house cricket and runs the occasional ‘benjy’.

Richard has been married to Ruth for 31 years and they have four children, Sebastian, Alistair, Katherine and Eleanor. Their two sons followed Richard to Moser's Hall and their younger daughter Eleanor has just just left Mary Sidney Hall.
