Meet the Housemaster...
Mike Wright took over as Housemaster of Ingram's in September 2010. He was educated at The King’s School Chester followed by a degree in Spanish at Durham University. He subsequently gained an MA in Education, also from Durham University.

Mike was appointed to teach Spanish at Shrewsbury in 2003, after spending three years teaching Spanish at Haileybury and a year in Argentina teaching English. He has since spent five years as Head of Spanish and four years as Assistant Housemaster in School House and Port Hill. Mike has also taught PSHE, and was in charge of Lower School socials for three years.

He has organised many Spanish trips and exchanges abroad and continues to enjoy travel and Hispanic cultures whenever possible.

A keen football supporter, coach and referee, Mike enjoys running the 2nd XI team. He is a qualified referee and has occasionally refereed on the Shrewsbury and Shropshire leagues. Mike also umpires house cricket in the summer term.

Mike is married to Paola, also a Spanish teacher at Shrewsbury since 2006. They share Ingram's with Alfred (born April 2009), Jemima (born September 2011), and their cocker spaniel, Ross.
